Hi, all! I’m going to be delaying ‘The Lost Diaries,’ which is an EP of bonus tracks from Kanto Symphony. As you may know, I’m a composition major and am juggling my Pokémon Reorchestrated project with homework and long days in the classroom, aaaaand—well, I think you can do the math. ^-^;
Once my spring semester at school starts to wind down, I imagine I’ll have more time to perfect this mini-album (especially the two original tracks, which will be my first debut ‘fan’ music themes based on Pokémon). I appreciate your patience in waiting for this, and I can assure you that it will certainly be worth the wait.
I don’t want ‘The Lost Diaries’ to simply be an ‘add-on’ to Kanto Symphony, haphazardly thrown together to meet an arbitrary deadline. Due to your backing and the success of Kanto Symphony, I’ve been able to upgrade and heighten my production values for future Pokémon Reorchestrated ventures and expect to be creating even more realistic and beautiful arrangements of the already memorable Pokémon soundtracks. With that said, I refuse to compromise on the quality of the music in order to meet said deadlines (but will also be setting more realistic goals for myself with regard to my schedule).
Thank you,
~Skotein

Thank you.

Today I was listening to Kanto Symphony with fresh ears, unassociated with MIDI piano rolls, knobs, and faders. I remembered what a reaction it had when it came out last October. So many of you fell in love with it and went out of your way to let me know all your favorite parts of the album, which was refreshing after working on it 9 months straight in solitude. It made smile, knowing there were so many Pokémon enthusiasts out there listening to it and bonding over their memories of the games.

I’ve said this before, and I’ll say it again: thank you for supporting Pokémon Reorchestrated. You’ve allowed me to seriously pursue my dream of composing and arranging game music, and your love for the project inspires me to create more arrangements based on the series that has brought us all together. :)

What do you mean "fully licensed?"

againstpower

The tracks for Kanto Symphony were licensed by Joypad Records, a special indie music label from San Francisco that specializes in copyright clearance for video game music covers, from the copyright holders of Pokemon’s music. This means I’m allowed to license and distribute my covers of Pokemon music from The Pokemon Company (the publisher of the original music) without running into messy legal issues. :) It’s just like paying royalties to a record company or a recording artist for doing a cover of one of their songs and putting it on iTunes.
